New Red Planet (NRP) has an exciting opportunity for a Semi Senior Accountant to join the team.
Location: Alderley Park, Alderley Edge, SK10 4TG
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm)

This is a hands-on role in a growing accountancy and payroll business which services a number of SMEs and PSCs. The company has ambitious growth plans over the next 12-24 months and the individual will have an important role within a growing business. The role will suit a career focused and determined person who will be keen to contribute their energy and enthusiasm to the role. The successful candidate will be a semi-senior member of the team responsible for all aspects of accounting and tax for our PSC and SME clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Liaising with clients (individuals and businesses) and providing financial information and advice
- Producing year-end accounts
- Completing self-assessment and corporate tax returns
- Reviewing VAT returns before submission
- Support with maintaining accounting records and preparing management information for small businesses
- Looking at tax planning opportunities for current clients
- Supporting SME owners in the growth of their business through pro-active advice and guidance
- Support and guidance will be provided by senior accountants within the business
- AAT qualified and be familiar with an accounting practice environment
- Have at least a grade “A” (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths
- Be gregarious and confident making outgoing phone calls, discussing all aspects of accounting and generally have a friendly phone manner
- Be able to work equally well alone or with other people and able to manage their own time
- Have a logical and pragmatic approach to solving problems and dealing with queries
- Be ambitious and keen to embrace the new challenge of growing the company’s client base
