KEY

At Key Unlocking Futures, part of Progress Housing Group, we help people across Lancashire build better lives. For over 30 years, we’ve supported children, young people and families through difficult times with compassionate, practical services that make a real difference.

We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker to act as a first point of contact for people referred into our domestic abuse service. You’ll complete initial risk assessments, provide crisis intervention and safety planning, and deliver focused, short-term support that helps survivors stay safe, regain confidence and move forward.

Your Role as a Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker for Key:

As a Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker, you will manage incoming referrals from MASH, MARAC, partner organisations and the helpline, making timely initial contact with survivors. You will complete SafeLives DASH risk assessments, provide tailored safety planning and crisis intervention, and ensure cases are directed to the most appropriate support.

You will also carry a small caseload of medium-risk cases, offering person-centred, trauma-informed and time-limited support around safeguarding, housing, mental health, finances, welfare benefits and related needs. Working closely with statutory , voluntary and community partners , you will advocate for survivors, help them access safe housing and local services, and support them to build independence and achieve clear outcomes.

What You Will Bring:

  • Experience of providing direct emotional, practical and welfare support to survivors of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention and initial assessment.
  • Experience of managing a caseload, creating support plans and completing safety planning through a person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
  • A strong understanding of domestic abuse dynamics, impacts and perpetrator behaviours, together with safeguarding legislation and good practice.
  • The ability to manage competing demands, prioritise effectively and stay organised in a busy, fast-paced service.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with survivors and effective relationships with partner agencies.
  • Good ICT skills, including confidence using databases and case management systems and maintaining accurate, confidential records.
  • A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience, and DASH RIC or SafeLives awareness training, would be desirable.
  • A Full UK driving licence and use of your own car for work journeys, plus flexibility for some evening or weekend work and participation in an on‑call rota when required.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £26, 806 in recognition of your skill and dedication.
  • A benefits package focused on work-life balance.
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme EAP
  • A role within an established organisation with almost 30 years of helping individuals and families building a brighter future for themselves.
  • A rewarding role with real purpose
  • Supportive team environment
  • Training and development opportunities
  • The chance to be part of a trusted organisation changing lives across Lancashire
  • Job security with a Permanent position that promotes work life balance

This is your chance to join an organisation with a strong social purpose, where your work will have a direct impact on the safety, confidence and independence of survivors of domestic abuse.

We’re proud that this impact has been recognised beyond our organisation. Key Unlocking Futures has been named the 2026 Spring North Charity of the Year and Impact Award winner, and we’re also delighted to have been shortlisted as BIBA finalists. It’s recognition that reflects the dedication of our team, the strength of our partnerships, and the difference we continue to make for people and communities across Lancashire.

Application Closing Date: 23.59pm on the 18 th October 2026

Interview Dates: 26 th , 27 th , 28 th & 29 th October 2026
