Casual Emergency Home Responder - Progress Lifeline

Our key services include:
- Emergency home response
- 24-hour telecare monitoring and response service to individuals at home
- The supply, installation and maintenance of personal alarms and advanced telecare devices
- Out-of-hours contact centre services for housing providers and local authorities
We are currently recruiting Casual Emergency Home Responders to join our on-call team in the South Ribble area. This role offers flexibility around existing work, study, family or other commitments, with shifts offered based on service demand and your availability.
Emergency Home Responder - Flexible Work That Makes a Difference
Are you looking for flexible casual work that offers variety and the chance to make a real impact outside of the typical 9am to 5pm routine?
As an Emergency Home Responder, you will be at the heart of providing critical support to our customers when they need it most. Whether you are assessing an emergency situation or offering reassurance and comfort, your role will be dynamic, rewarding and hands‑on. At all times, you will provide reassurance and ensure our customers feel as comfortable and supported as possible.
Working from home, you will be on call during agreed shifts and attend emergency calls in the South Ribble area when directed by our Control Centre. As a casual worker, you will have the flexibility to accept shifts that fit around your availability.
We provide comprehensive training in all aspects of the role, including:
- Moving and handling customers who have fallen
- First Aid
- Use of specialist equipment

What You Will Bring
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
- Residency within the South Ribble area (essential)

- Willingness to learn new skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability and flexibility to work on a casual, on-call basis
What We Offer
- A casual contract offering flexibility around existing commitments
- Opportunities to work day or night on-call shifts (06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00)
- Shifts offered based on business need and your availability
- A standby payment of £27.01 per standby shift
- Additional call‑out payments of £20.18 per hour for the first 90 minutes, reducing to £13.75 per hour thereafter
- Mileage allowance of £0.55 per mile
- Comprehensive training and ongoing support
