About Us: Welcome to New Park Manor, part of the Luxury Family Hotel group, where luxury meets relaxation in the heart of the New Forest.
The Role: As Maintenance Assistant you will be responsible for keeping the hotel safe and in great working order – a necessity for our guests both little and big! Your role will involve managing all basic maintenance skills including painting, decorating, electrics, carpentry and plumbing. It is extremely varied and no two days are the same; you will need to have a keen eye for detail, be an effective communicator to your fellow team members, be resourceful and efficient. This is a permanent position at 40 hours per week (flexibility required as may include weekend work), with an hourly rate of £14.47 + generous service charge & excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of the hotel's facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and grounds
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address any issues or potential hazards
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist with the implementation of preventative maintenance programs to prolong the lifespan of equipment and minimise downtime
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Assist with landscaping and groundskeeping duties as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to support hotel operations and special projects as required
To succeed in this role we are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role preferred
- Technical skills and knowledge of general maintenance techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
