New Outlook has been providing housing and care services to people with sensory impairment across the West Midlands for over 170 years. Chatham Place is an Extra Care Sheltered Housing scheme that provides 24-hour specialist care and support to vulnerable adults aged 55+ with a sensory impairment and other complex needs.
A position has opened at Chatham Place for a Care & Support Worker. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a positive, can-do attitude, who can build effective relationships with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one support to tenants to promote their independence
- Developing daily living skills
- Supporting with personal care needs
- Meal preparation
- Medication assistance
- Housing support (responding to daily support needs, shopping, laundry duties, assisting with activities, domestic tasks)
- Maintaining accurate records
- Assisting in maintaining the security of the building
- Adhering to all policies and procedures of the Association
You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, be confident in lone working, remain flexible, proactive and person-centred.
Prerequisites:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Caring and compassionate nature
- Ability to work 30 hours per week without visa restrictions
- Enhanced DBS clearance and evidence of Right to Work in the UK
