New Minds partners with ambitious, high‑performing consulting firms to deliver high‑impact recruitment programmes end‑to‑end. Recruitment is one part of our broader consulting work in people strategy and talent advisory, and our Associates work to the same consulting standards as our core teams. We protect leadership time, keep momentum high, and ensure candidates experience a process that feels seamless and human.
We have a strong pipeline of client projects and are seeking experienced freelance partners, with prior experience in the management consulting sector, who can join engagements quickly to deliver hands‑on recruitment outcomes at pace. This Associate role is client‑first and outcome‑based. You’ll be operating within a consulting environment rather than an agency model - using structured methods, insight and advisory thinking to deliver results.
It will appeal to:
- Agency recruiters who want to work in a more structured, advisory and embedded way.
- In‑house recruiters who want greater variety across brands, stakeholders and markets.
Why New Minds:
- Join a collaborative delivery team working on engagements where structured methodology, high‑touch candidate experience and tangible outcomes matter.
- As part of a consulting business, you’ll also gain exposure to broader people strategy and leadership priorities across different clients.
About the Opportunity:
You will support and/or lead end‑to‑end recruitment projects for ambitious consulting firms - rapid scoping, targeted sourcing/headhunting, structured screening and selection, offer management, and onboarding handover - working as a trusted extension of our clients’ brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of full lifecycle hiring for defined campaigns/workstreams and deliver quality at speed.
- Conduct structured research and headhunting; write and refine role briefs and adverts.
- Run candidate screening and interviews; design tailored assessment formats and provide clear recommendations.
- Maintain clear stakeholder updates, proactively manage risks, and keep documentation accurate and current.
- Uphold a candidate‑centric process that reflects each client’s culture and values.
Who We’re Looking For:
You are an experienced recruiter who understands the consultancy/professional services sector, who thrives in fast‑paced environments and can quickly make an impact. You’ll be confident working independently, managing multiple projects, and delivering high‑quality outcomes for consulting clients.
An experienced recruiter (minimum of 5 years, possibly far more) who can land quickly and operate with credibility in consulting environments. Strong delivery discipline—able to juggle multiple workstreams, keep momentum, and produce high‑quality outputs. Excellent research/headhunting, interviewing and written communication skills. Familiarity with management consultancies and professional/advisory services.
Skills and Attributes We Value:
- Highly organised, logical and disciplined in delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Commercially aware and outcome‑focused.
- Able to transition smoothly between different client cultures and expectations.
- Builds trust quickly with senior stakeholders.
Assignments are typically structured outside IR35 and outcome‑based. Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) will be required. Please indicate your typical day‑rate expectations in the application questionnaire; individual engagements are scoped based on outcomes, rate and duration.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion:
We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive and transparent culture and welcome Associates from all backgrounds.
