The New Mexico Department of Health is a centralized state agency that ensures safety net services to all New Mexicans through the many programs and services. The NMDOH, in order to ensure health equity, works with partners to promote health and well-being and improve health outcomes for all people in New Mexico. Each employee has a role to help New Mexicans, and this role fills a critical need for the Lea County Public Health Offices.

This position supports and delivers various public health programs, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Health Services such as Epidemiology and Response
  • Tuberculosis
  • Breast and Cervical Cancer screening and referral
  • STI screening, treatment and referrals
  • Immunizations
  • Family Planning
  • Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) services
  • Case Management
  • Community Outreach
  • Health Promotion
  • Disease Management

This position supports the Southeast (SE) Region of New Mexico and assures that quality health services are provided for the population. This position will be responsible for participating in any requirements for the Medicaid Administrative Claiming program as it relates to the primary duties of their job and working with clients and community members throughout Lea County.

This position advises on health maintenance and disease prevention. This position administers nursing care to clients in an autonomous environment by utilizing the laws, principles, practices, standing orders, and techniques.
