New Lyminge Surgery is seeking a friendly, motivated Health Care Assistant to join our supportive primary care team. The post holder will work alongside GPs and the nursing team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to our practice population.
Main duties of the job
- Work under the supervision of the nursing team and GPs to provide routine clinical care, including:
- Blood pressure monitoring and recording observations
- ECGs
- NHS Health Checks
- Wound care and dressings
- Supporting chronic disease management clinics
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
- Adhering to infection control, health & safety, and practice policies
- Preparing and maintaining clinical rooms and equipment
- Providing a professional, caring service to patients at all times

The Health Care Assistant will support the clinical team in the delivery of essential patient care services. Person Specification
Experience
- Experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a GP Practice
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Knowledge of EMIS Web
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Care Certificate
- Willingness to undertake any further training associated with the role
