THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to provide Financial Analysis and Support to Senior Digital Operations Management and Senior Marketing Management teams. Reporting to the E-Comm Finance Business Partner - this role supports them to manage their functional relationships and helps them implement business strategy.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Drives business performance through accurate, reliable, and insightful financial reporting and analysis, to aid commercial decision making.
- Co-ordination of the customer finance team processes around month end and forecasting.
- Challenge the existing resources, systems, and ways of working to drive continuous process improvement and delivery of cost efficiency targets.
- Drives efficiency through developing and refining current procedures and identifying any issues.
- Provide financial analysis and support to the Ecom and Marketing Managers, to support, influence and assist in providing insight to ensure key operational KPI’s are robust and delivered.
- Develop and manage relationships with the brand marketing areas, digital project managers, procurement, logistics managers and wider finance teams to ensure data is accurate and reports are developed on an ongoing basis.
Monthly Performance Reporting
- Co-ordination and ownership of periodic production of management accounting and key variance analysis across Website costs and Brand Marketing Areas.
- Own the co-ordination and presentation of the period end Marketing pack.
- Co-ordinate the Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting processes, with the General Accounting Manager.
- Develop and maintain an improved set of processes and controls partnering with management and leveraging support from the wider finance team.
- On-going capture of risk and ops within Website and Marketing expenditure through coordination of all key stakeholders and owns communication with FP&A and Senior Mgt.
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Co-ordinate and own the production, development and maintaining of budgets and forecasts for Brand Marketing.
- Manage the Brand Marketing and co-ordinate value engineering through identifying efficiencies opportunities through better optimising of budget allocations.
- Own and understand any risk or opportunities that may impact the P&L and communicate these to Heads of Ecommerce and Finance.
Trading & Delivery Proposition
- Understand the trading stance of the business and be able to evaluate the commercial KPI’s that impact trade at any point in time, thereby facilitating timely decision-making.
- Review, understand and provide recommendations for optimising our delivery proposition to drive cost efficiencies and maximise profitability.
- Ad-hoc support for the trading division to improve decision making and ensure effectiveness of cost and discount expenditures.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain respectful relationships with Marketing team.
- Financial support for the Marketing Managers for specific owned areas.
- Deputise for Finance Manager in the support of the Senior Leadership team.
- Build a relationship with key stakeholders outside of Marketing including BMD, Ecom, Retail.
WHO YOU ARE
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Part-Qualified Accountant.
- Previous experience in a commercial environment and management accounting experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financials effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong financial control skills.
- You have proficient Microsoft office skills e.g Excel, PowerPoint.
- The ability to juggle a variety of tasks in a time pressured environment where re-prioritising is the norm.
- Solid analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Curious mentality always wanting to understand why.
- Strong influencing skills to ensure that the best decisions are taken.
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to challenge when required and work well within and across both finance and operational teams.
