WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- You’ll champion the customer by identifying and removing pain points, placing their needs at the heart of everything we do.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to champion what good looks like for ecommerce UX design.
- Work in collaboration with other designers and researchers, and take advantage of knowledge sharing, while having autonomy in your work.
- Develop interactive prototypes, and accessible UI designs that effectively communicate the intended user experience.
- You’ll contribute to the New Look Design System to maintain consistency and improve usability across our digital products.
- Support our senior researcher in user testing, and run moderated and unmoderated studies yourself, including analysis and playback to stakeholders.
- Build good connections with our stakeholders through excellent communication and collaborative workshops (eg. Design Critiques, Research activities).
- Invest in our Design and Research Community by sharing progress – fostering collaboration and strengthening our UX and design culture.
WHO YOU ARE
- Experience in product discovery, working with other designers, researchers, product managers and developers to discover how best to improve our products.
- Able to understand and discuss technical concepts, use quantitative and qualitative data to prioritise user needs effectively.
- Experience of running moderated and unmoderated user research and knowing what type of research to use when.
- An advocate for design thinking and agile methodologies.
- Good knowledge of using design tools such as Figma, and curious about leaning into generative AI tools such as Chat GPT, V0, Bolt, Loveable.
- An understanding of user‑centred design principles, information architecture, with a good sense of aesthetics when designing interfaces.
- Experience of successfully delivering design and research outputs in challenging environments. You can help simplify complex ideas and maximise business value while meeting customer needs.
- Great communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence design decisions. Able to drive asynchronous communication through internal comms tools like Slack.
- Experience of using and contributing to Design Systems that span multi-channels, platforms, and third parties across app and web.
- You create a positive team spirit, focus on team engagement and embody the New Look values.
Bonus: Experience designing for content management systems and working closely with marketing and email teams.
Bonus: Knowledge of content design principles.
