THE ROLE
The Discovery Optimisation Manager leads the Discovery Optimisation team with a data and customer-led approach, driving performance through BAU experimentation and continuous improvement across key discovery areas, including search, navigation, product ranking, and content placement. Supports the Ecommerce General Manager in delivering the wider digital strategy by shaping customer journeys and commercial outcomes, while embedding a test-and-learn culture and developing team capability.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop selling strategies that optimise site journeys and support trade, ensuring alignment with company and departmental objectives
- Maintain deep knowledge of the websites, platforms, and customer behaviours to provide expert guidance and support across the business
- Oversee the execution of selling strategies and roadmaps with clear hypotheses, measurable goals, and documented learnings
- Lead the creation, implementation, and analysis of BAU experimentation across key owned areas (navigation, taxonomy, onsite search, content placement, etc.) to drive customer experience and commercial impact
- Support planning, briefing, testing, and rollout of new digital features, campaigns, and product launches, ensuring seamless delivery
- Analyse campaign, test, and trading performance; deliver retrospectives with actionable insights and recommendations
- Own and continuously optimise journeys to maximise discoverability, engagement, and conversion across all devices and channels
- Leverage data and experimentation to ensure product visibility and relevance in category pages and search results
- Manage and test rules around product ranking and content placement to balance commercial priorities and user needs
- Collaborate with the SEO agency to ensure that navigation and product listing pages (PLPs) are search-optimised and aligned with best practices
- Ensure website standards are upheld, and any issues are identified and resolved promptly
- Work closely with the Trade team to identify and implement strategic and tactical opportunities
- Partner with Product Managers and UX to support broader digital initiatives that enhance the end-to-end customer experience
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, driving system efficiency and performance
- Continuously improve team operations through process enhancements, platform improvements, and skills development
- Lead the Discovery team to deliver a high-performing, collaborative culture with clear goals and accountability
WHO YOU ARE
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in optimisation
- Proven track record of working in a fast-paced trading environment
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights and identify business opportunities
- Practical experience in trading, category management, and performance optimisation
- Experienced in experimentation platforms and a champion of test-and-learn culture
- Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder influence and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Track record of achieving KPIs and driving measurable business outcomes
- Skilled at coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Positive, professional, and a strong ambassador for the brand
