The Role:

Join Our Finance Team as Finance Assistant. Are you an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive individual looking to make a significant impact in the finance sector? Based at our support centre in Weymouth, this role offers a hybrid working model, providing flexibility and a collaborative environment. While finance experience is not essential, we are seeking someone with exceptional attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate stock and expense accounting, analysing and monitoring freight charges, commissioning stock invoices, and stock reconciliation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Continuous analysis and focus on Freight charges, including uploading source data into data warehouse, monitoring charges and variances, highlighting potential duplicates with third party suppliers, ensuring credits are received, and supporting with the accrual calculation process.
  • Preparation, matching, analysis and posting of Commission stock invoices, including raising POs and receipting for commission invoices.
  • Reconciliation of stock figures between external suppliers and internal transfers to ascertain correct stock movements to Germany.
  • Reconciliation and maintenance of Duty files checking against monthly HMRC payment.
  • Preparation of data to support Senior Analyst with CTM variance reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation and posting of month end accruals/prepayments within the CTM area.
  • Providing data and analysis for internal and external audit purposes.
  • Support reconciliation of GFR supplier statements, ensuring that all invoices are covered in the stock accounting process.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Minimum level of education or qualifications.
  • Interest in finance, with desire to commence AAT/ACCA-x.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good organisational skills and able to work to tight timescales and a laid down timetable.
  • Good analytical approach with a strong attention to detail.
  • Can do attitude and good problem solving skills.
  • Commercial and practical approach in resolving day to day issues.
  • Ability to create and maintain a strong control environment.
  • Ability to identify control weaknesses and offer solutions.
  • Able to work within strict policy and procedural guidelines.
