The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with their daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care to clients with diverse needs, including elderly individuals and those with dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions and emotional well-being.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties related to client care areas.
- Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times.
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, maintaining safe driving practices.
- Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when needed.
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with organizational policies.
Experience:
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, dementia care, hospice support, and behaviour management techniques.
- Experience with medication administration and first aid certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with caring for seniors or children in caregiving roles is beneficial.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks as part of daily duties.
- Driving experience with a valid licence is preferred but not essential.
