New Leaf Search has partnered with a leading provider of IT infrastructure to corporate and public sectors in its search for a Manager, Credit Underwriting. Salary c£100,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, Thames Valley / West London (Hybrid).
The Role
This is a senior leadership role within a growing and dynamic credit underwriting function, supporting a rapidly evolving technology and financial services business. You will lead the credit underwriting team, ensuring robust risk management, strong governance and effective control of credit exposure, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the credit underwriting team, including performance, hiring and KPIs
- Analyse customer risk profiles and validate automated credit scoring models
- Manage credit exposure, limits and portfolio risk across sectors
- Produce risk reporting and support governance forums and board-level decisions
- Oversee trade credit insurance, budgets and process improvements
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align credit strategy with business objectives
- Support complex credit decisions and approvals within delegated authority
- Drive continuous improvement across underwriting processes and controls
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in credit underwriting within financial services or asset finance
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills
- Solid understanding of credit governance, regulation and compliance
- Commercially aware with strong stakeholder management skills
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to influence at senior level
- Experience in technology, leasing or vendor finance environments advantageous
