New Leaf Search has partnered with a multi-national asset finance company in its search for a Business Development Director, Direct with responsibility for developing new asset finance business throughout the North of England as well as managing some established key accounts/relationships within the region.

Location: North / North West England (Remote)
Key Responsibilities

Focus 70% on new business development and 30% on existing account management.

Generate new asset finance opportunities via direct client engagement, intermediaries, manufacturers, and vendors.

Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities in line with business strategy and policy.

Structure and negotiate asset finance transactions, ensuring credit viability and compliance with risk parameters.

Conduct financial analysis including cash flows, discount rates, and NPV calculations.

Prepare robust credit submissions and collaborate with credit colleagues to agree risk actions.

Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory and operational policies.

Support business strategy, product performance, and regional campaigns.

Deliver sales and product training to enhance knowledge across the region.

Provide face-to-face client support to ensure smooth and safe transactions.
Person Specification

Strong track record in external leasing sales with demonstrable success.

Broad knowledge of the UK asset finance and leasing market.

Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and execute asset finance deals.

Experience in account management and business development, ideally in the direct hard asset space.

Commercially astute with strong appreciation of credit risk.
