Job Description:

New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies in the nation. It services infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. NJID offers specialized facilities, programs, and support throughout New Jersey. Join our dedicated staff of more than 500 and make a difference in someone\’s life!

We hiredirect support professionalsto assist residents with developmental disabilities with daily living activities in a residential setting.

Job Responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional:

  • Assist and supervise activities related to daily living skills.
  • Administer or assist with prescribed medication.
  • Assist with transportation
  • Assist in the implementation of individual goals and objectives.
  • Data entry using Therap (EHR)
  • Assist residents in pursuing recreational, social, and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans.

Job Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver\’s license is in good standing and must be insurable through NJID\’s automobile insurance.

NO certification required

Hours Per Work Week: 12 Weekly Work Schedule: Sun. – Tues. 3:30 pm-9:30 pm

Other shifts are available at this location.

NJID has full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities in Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Somerset Counties.
