We are looking for a reliable, compassionate Support Worker to join a dedicated team providing 24-hour, person-centred care to an individual with a spinal cord injury and tracheostomy. You will help the person remain safe, comfortable and as independent as possible in their own home and community.
Key responsibilities
Provide attentive support throughout the shift in line with the individuals care plan, risk assessments and preferences. Support tracheostomy care and other agreed clinical tasks after competency-based training and assessment. Assist with personal care, repositioning, mobility and transfers using the prescribed equipment and techniques. Support medication in accordance with care plans, training and company procedures. Monitor wellbeing, recognise changes or signs of concern, and follow escalation and emergency procedures. Support daily routines, household tasks, appointments, activities and access to the community. Maintain accurate, timely care records and communicate clearly with the individual, family and wider care team. Promote dignity, choice, privacy, independence and safeguarding at all times. About you
Kind, respectful and committed to person-centred support. Calm, observant and able to respond appropriately in urgent situations. Dependable and able to work both independently and as part of a consistent care team. Good verbal and written communication skills. Willing to complete all required training and competency assessments. Experience in complex care, spinal injury support or tracheostomy care is desirable, but applicants with the right values and transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
