New Hall School is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Estates.

The Deputy Head of Estates plays a key role in supporting the strategic and operational management of the School's estate, ensuring that the buildings, grounds, facilities, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards.

Working closely with the Head of Estates, the Deputy Head of Estates is responsible for helping to deliver a safe, efficient, compliant, and well-presented environment that supports the educational, boarding, and wider community activities of the School.,

  • to provide leadership to Department staff, supporting a performance management culture and a commitment to professional and personal development
  • to create an operating structure which facilitates a strong focus on service excellence, high quality and value for money
  • to identify areas for development to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of facilities
  • to ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements with regard to external parties using the New Hall site, Boreham House and New Hall Park Farm
  • to conserve and enhance the Grade I listed heritage buildings and Grade II registered park & gardens
  • to ensure all hard services are maintained and a schedule of statutory inspections is implemented
  • to ensure that contracted services are effective and value for money
  • to assist the Head of Estates in formulating, managing and delivering Estate budgets
  • to work with the Health & Safety Officer to ensure risk assessments are completed for all Estate matters to have a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and ethos of a Catholic independent boarding and day school
  • to hold a degree or other relevant post-A Level/BTEC qualification
  • to hold relevant professional qualification(s)
  • to hold a Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • to have demonstrable experience as an Estate/Facilities Manager or in a comparable role
  • to have experience of soft and hard services
  • to have experience of team leadership
  • to demonstrate strong communication, organisational and management skills, both verbal and written
  • to possess contract management and negotiation skills
  • to be proactive, flexible and able to use initiative to manage competing priorities
  • to be approachable, confident and personable, with excellent spoken English, All adults employed by the New Hall School have a responsibility for data protection and have a duty to observe and follow the principles of the GDPR Regulations.

New Hall School operates the highly successful 'diamond model', where students are educated in co-educational classes from ages 1 to 11 and at Sixth Form.
