About This Role
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and highly motivated Early Years Room Leader to join our Nursery team. This is a key role within the Nursery, supporting the Nursery Manager in the effective day‑to‑day management of the setting and taking responsibility for the leadership, organisation and development of a designated room.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of a designated nursery room.
- Deliver high‑quality early years education and care in line with the EYFS statutory framework.
- Create and maintain a safe, stimulating, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Lead, support and develop staff within the room, promoting high standards of practice.
- Monitor planning, assessment and observations to ensure children’s individual needs are met.
- Ensure safeguarding and child welfare are central to all practice and fully compliant with statutory requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the Nursery provision.
- Uphold and actively promote the Catholic ethos, Mission and values of the School.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Clear understanding of, and a commitment to, the aims of a Catholic independent boarding & day school and the values expressed in the Mission & Ethos Statement.
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g., QTS, EYPS, EYTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS statutory framework, curriculum, assessment and current best practice.
- Experience of delivering the Early Years curriculum and supporting others in its implementation.
- Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Ability to build positive and effective relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
- High levels of personal and professional integrity.
- Approachable, personable and confident, with excellent spoken English.
