We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Operative to join our team and help maintain our hotel's charm and functionality.

The Role:

  • As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel is well-maintained, safe, and in excellent condition.
  • From routine repairs to emergency fixes, you will be an essential part of the team that keeps everything running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general maintenance and repairs across the hotel.
  • Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Be part of the Company’s weekend call out providing maintenance cover across our Collection one Saturday in 4 on a rolling basis.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Carry out regular mandatory compliance inspections, fire alarm checks, Legionella flushing etc.
  • Maintain and oversee the upkeep of the hotel's swimming pool, ensuring water quality, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Carry out painting, decorating, and minor carpentry work as required.
  • Monitor and report any major repair needs or potential hazards.
  • Liaise with external contractors when necessary.

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably in a historic country house hotel setting.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and general handyman skills.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • A commitment to health and safety standards and the ability to work with our compliance system.
