We are looking for a dedicated and practical Maintenance Operative to join our team on a part-time basis and help maintain the charm, safety, and functionality of our beautiful hotel on the edge ofthe New Forest.

The Role

  • 18 hours per week across 3 days

, you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel and its facilities are maintained to a high standard.

From routine maintenance and compliance checks to responding to repairs, you'll be an integral part of the team that helps deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel and grounds.
  • Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests.
  • Participate in the Company's weekend on-call maintenance rota, providing support across the Collection on a rolling basis (currently one Saturday in four).
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Undertake mandatory compliance checks, including fire alarm testing, Legionella flushing, and other statutory inspections.
  • Maintain and oversee the hotel's swimming pool, ensuring cleanliness, water quality, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Carry out painting, decorating, and minor carpentry work as required.
  • Identify, report, and where possible rectify maintenance issues and potential hazards.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hands-on, and enjoys solving problems. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or property maintenance role.
  • Good working knowledge of general maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrics, painting, and repairs.
  • A proactive approach and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.
  • Experience of compliance-based maintenance activities would be advantageous.
