Caretaker–perm(37hrs per week)alternate shift pattern week 1 from 7.30am to 15:30pmweek 2 10:30am to 18:30pm

We have an excellent opportunity within our Facilities Management team fora Caretakerat our Lymington Town Hall officewho will play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operationofthebuildingand may be asked to assist with other premisesacross the district.AtLymington Town Hallyou’llhelp ensure ourpropertyiswell-maintained, secure, and ready to servestaff and visitors.

  • Practical, adaptable, and confident completing basic maintenance tasks.

  • Comfortable liaising with contractors, staff, and service teams.
  • A good communicator who takes pride in keeping buildings safe and operational.
  • Able to use phones, tablets, and digital systems to log tasks and report issues.

Whatyou’llbe doing

  • Providing routine caretaking support at LymingtonTown Halls, andoccasionally other NFDC sites
  • Acting as first point of contact and overseeing contractor access.
  • Undertaking basic repairs and maintenance tasks such as replacing bulbs, toilet seats, or carrying out minor checks.
  • Supporting fire safety responsibilities, including weekly alarmtestsandassistingwith fire drills.
  • Carrying out site checks, including meter readings and equipment inspections.
  • Responding to operational issues and reporting hazards, faults, or required maintenance.
  • Optionallyparticipatingin anout ‑ of ‑ hoursrota (with standby allowance) to triage issues and elevate where needed.
  • Helping ensure buildings are secure, tidy,well-maintainedand compliant with health and safety requirements.
