Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Inspector to join our dynamic team. As a valued member of our friendly and professional in-house workforce, you will play a key role in ensuring our homes are safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out pre- and post-work inspections
- Monitoring subcontractor performance
- Supporting compliance with health and safety requirements across both tenanted and void properties
- Working closely with Area Supervisors and skilled trades teams to assess workmanship and drive quality standards
- Attending property inspection requests within timescales set
- Liaising with customers, other housing staff, and property professionals to diagnose defects and building pathology
- Reporting defects that warrant action in accordance with the Council’s Maintenance and Repair Policy
- Carrying out proactive and preventative visits and inspections to mitigate against the risk of damp and mould
- Providing education to tenants on helpful ways of reducing condensation and mould in their homes
- Inspecting empty homes and providing written reports on outcome standards
- Undertaking regular cyclical maintenance inspections of Council housing blocks, estates, and communal shared facilities
