We’re looking for a proactive and motivated Housing Business Support Officer to join our busy Housing team, providing vital administrative and operational support across a range of services. This is a varied and fast‑paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in supporting our operational teams, working closely with Repairs Supervisors, contractors and colleagues to ensure services run smoothly and our tenants receive a responsive, high‑quality service. About the role:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to operational housing teams, including Repairs and Maintenance.
- Communicate with contractors, chasing works and ensuring timely completion of repairs and tasks.
- Support Repairs Supervisors with day‑to‑day administrative activities and coordination.
- Manage the tenant alterations process, ensuring applications are processed efficiently and in line with policy.
- Oversee tenant and internal recharges, including handling queries, investigations and complaints.
- Respond to tenant enquiries and complaints across operational services in a professional and timely manner.
- Support administration reporting functions, ensuring accurate data and performance information is maintained.
- Assist with voids coordination, providing cover during leave and supporting peak demand periods.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Housing to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Help maintain accurate records and systems to support operational performance and compliance.
Experience and qualifications:
- Experience in an administrative role within a busy, customer‑focused environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with tenants, colleagues and contractors.
- Experience handling customer queries and complaints effectively.
- IT literate with experience using systems and performance monitoring tools, including Microsoft Office and housing/asset systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and data.
- Proven experience managing or supervising staff in a busy administrative environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, flexible approach with a willingness to support across different areas of the service.
- Good understanding of housing services, repairs or social housing (preferred).

Working Hours:
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5.15 pm. This role can be flexible in start and finish times, but this would be dependent on the needs of the service.
