We are seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our busy Environmental & Regulation Service. This is a key customer focused role, acting as the first point of contact for the service and providing essential administrative support.

About the Role

  • Acting as the first point of contact for the Environmental & Regulation Service
  • Responding to a high volume of telephone and email enquiries from members of the public, businesses, and internal colleagues
  • Providing accurate information and effectively signposting enquiries to the appropriate officers or teams
  • Supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of a fast‑paced service
  • Maintaining records and ensuring enquiries are logged and processed efficiently

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent team‑working skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment
  • Strong customer care and communication skills, with confidence liaising with members of the public, front‑line staff and external agencies
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and professional while managing competing priorities

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working within a Local Authority
  • A working knowledge of Acolaid, Netcall and Microsoft Teams would be beneficial
