We are seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our busy Environmental & Regulation Service.

About the Role

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Environmental & Regulation Service
  • Respond to a high volume of telephone and email enquiries from members of the public, businesses and internal colleagues
  • Provide accurate information and effectively signpost enquiries to appropriate officers or teams
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of a fast‑paced service
  • Maintain records and ensure enquiries are logged and processed efficiently

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment
  • Strong customer care and communication skills, confident liaising with members of the public, front‑line staff and external agencies
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and professional while managing competing priorities

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a Local Authority
  • Working knowledge of Acolaid, Netcall and Microsoft Teams would be beneficial
