We are looking for a dedicated, experienced Maths Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team. This would suit a subject specialist in Maths. New Forest School is an outstanding, small independent school with an excellent reputation for working with vulnerable students with ASD, attachment difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs and challenging behaviours. Students and staff benefit from access to excellent facilities on our split site school, including access to our school farm and Outdoor Learning Centre. Extremely small class sizes and high staff ratios allow us to provide highly bespoke and individualised educational provision to our students with additional support provided from our therapy and pastoral teams. The company is unable to sponsor employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons whilst following the national curriculum.
- Have a desire to work in an SEN setting.
- Be approachable, flexible and adaptable, with a desire to make a difference in our students' lives.
- Have the capability for supporting children with social and emotional behavioural needs within an educational environment.
- Possess effective communication and relationship building skills.
- Be passionate about providing quality education care and support to young people.
- To intervene physically with our students, when required, using Team Teach trained techniques when de-escalation strategies have failed (full training will be provided).
- Demonstrate analytical thinking.
- Improve the quality of pupils' learning.
- Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom engage and motivate pupils.
Qualifications and Requirements
- QTS or equivalent required.
- Proven teaching experience.
- Desire to work in an SEN setting.
- Effective communication skills and build good relationships.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Full UK driving licence – desirable.
