We are looking to appoint a Special Educational Coordinator (SENCO) for New Forest School. The successful candidate should have experience in working with SEN children in the Secondary age setting; be able to evidence sound knowledge, skill and understanding of the SENCO role and demonstrate effective practice in supporting the learning and Personal Development needs of our children.

The SENCO role is responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual students with SEN or a disability for students/sites allocated to them. They provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and carers, and other agencies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent e.g., QTLS
  • NASENCO Qualification (or be an experienced SENCO working towards/able to complete this qualification)
