This is an exciting opportunity to join and help lead the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at New Forest School. Working closely with the Director of Education, Executive Headteacher, and Headteacher, you will be instrumental in bringing our school's values to life.
Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced individual to join us as an Assistant Headteacher. You will play a pivotal role in inspiring, motivating, and empowering our dedicated staff and students. At New Forest School, we expect our leaders to exemplify our values in every aspect of their role—using them as a compass to guide decision-making and ensure the very best outcomes for our young people.
New Forest School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Operating across several sites in Southampton Waterside and Romsey, we meet the diverse needs of pupils from KS2 onwards with a variety of SEND requirements. You will be supported by a forward-thinking management team focused on educational quality and continuous professional development.
Start Date: April 2026 preferred, but no later than September 2026.
Responsibilities: The role involves leading and contributing to the SLT to drive educational quality and promote the school's values in daily practice. (Note: Specific duties may be provided during the recruitment process.)
Qualifications
- Essential: A profound awareness, understanding, and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to school leadership.
- Desirable: A minimum of two years' leadership experience.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a strong, positive impact in a senior management role.
- Experience working within a SEND environment.
