Role

Our Global Technology ‘Employee Platform’ group is a team of innovators who love technology as much as you do. The WTS team is responsible for the planning and delivery of workplace technology initiatives in our corporate offices and retail branches. The Tech Ops Lead / Project Manager role within WTS CWT focuses on technical projects from initiation through implementation and includes planning, funding, analysis, design, scheduling, development, implementation, and project documentation. The Tech Project Manager will drive and assure the delivery of all global technology products and solutions associated with the Workplace Technology Projects.

The Tech Project Manager partners with the Line of Business (LOB) key contacts for all projects and routinely engages with support groups within Global Technology organisation, including Finance, Network, End User Products, and Operations. The ideal Tech Project Manager has project management skills as well as experience with various infrastructure technologies such as virtual computing, networks, wireless technology, and multimedia to name a few. The Tech Project Manager has experience with project management tools, the financial services industry, and end user technologies. Successful Tech Project Managers are "self‑starters" with a desire to learn and a passion for transformation. Relationship building at all levels of the GT organisation and across Workplace Technology Services is a standard part of this job.

Role Specific Experience

The Project Manager will be leading and delivering complex technology initiatives supporting Commercial Banking and Trader Floor environments, with a strong focus on office relocations, new builds, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades so applicable experience will be essential. This role requires hands‑on experience managing end‑to‑end projects in fast‑paced, regulated financial services settings, including coordination of trading floor technologies, voice and data networks, end‑user computing, and business‑critical applications. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal technology teams to plan, execute, and transition projects with minimal disruption to trading and banking operations, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budgets, risk controls, and governance standards.

Project Management Responsibility

  • Management of all aspects of technology project lifecycle, including but not limited to:
  • Scope development and management.
  • Requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Design of project solution in adherence with GT and WTS standards.
  • Creation and management of project schedule in Microsoft Project or other project management application.
  • Financial budget creation and tracking.
  • Risk and issue management.
  • Change management.

Manage agile delivery teams using standard agile methodology and ceremonies. Create and maintain Kanban boards using Atlassian JIRA tool. Engagement and management of cross‑functional teams including structured cabling, data network, WIFI, desktop, Audio/Visual, telephony, and call centre technology resources. Ensure coordination of technology deliverables in conjunction with project timeframes. Engages, manages, and tracks the status of deliverables for all resources, including internal and external (vendor) resources. Communicates with key stakeholders and executive sponsor; conducts periodic briefings, develops written weekly status updates. Serves as the single point of contact for project level issues and questions. Manages escalations and change initiatives on project lifecycle processes.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Minimum of 5 years business experience, including experience managing technical projects related to new construction.
  • College degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record of successful project management.
  • Project management certifications such as PMP, Prince 2, Agile, or Six Sigma are a plus.
  • Fluency to expert level experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Project management experience, specially related to the delivery of technology in large, new build/construction projects.
  • Ability to manage projects that are highly visible, strategic to Firm direction or which are in trouble/off track.
  • Demonstrated experience handling high volume project workload.
  • Proven ability to organise activities, events, and teams.
  • Solid track record keeping projects deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to motivate team members to achieve excellence.
  • Analytical ability, organisation, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to develop these skills in team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence.
  • Independent worker.
  • Effectively handles new direction and a changing work environment.
  • Effectively collaborate with Peer group to identify and highlight best practices in support through continuous assessment, and elevating process and product recommendations to senior managers.
