Who is New England Seafood International?
New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 650 people across two sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 22,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas.

Shift pattern: 4on 4 off
Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
What is the purpose of this role?
- To support the Unit C Ops Team in delivering to KPIs and volumes as required, and work as a team to ensure our site and customers\’ food standards are met at all times.
- To ensure that quality product is packed and distributed to the customer.
- To accurately count and pick customers’ orders.
- Be a team player and be able to support in any area which the company needs.
What is the role accountable for?
- The position will require products to be picked and packed as per works orders in a fast-paced low care environment.
- Picking accuracy is a must and working at an efficient pace.
- To follow the H&S standards.
- Ensure (GMP’s) Good Manufacturing Processes are followed.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment.
- Meeting deadlines according to the customer plan and ensuring 100% service level.
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed as per business requirements.
- To be open to new challenges, and willing to learn new skills.
- Quality control products to ensure customer satisfaction.
- To be able to work in a team environment.
Required Skills/ Knowledge/ Experience:
- Previous experience of manual handling in a factory environment would be desirable (although training will be provided).
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Can work at speed, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexible worker and team player.
- Ensure all stock being loaded or unloaded matches the relevant paperwork/load plan.
- Packing and palletising of products for dispatch.
- Transfer frozen goods into correct location within freezer stores.
- Ensure that good stock rotation is practiced at all times (Including frozen).
- Good understanding of the English language essential.
- Committed and conscientious.
- We require all applicants to have a basic understanding of English Literacy and Numeracy.
- A can-do attitude is a must.
- Self-motivated and flexible.
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment (uniform provided), and standing for long periods of time.
