Who is New England Seafood International?

New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 650 people across two sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 22,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas.

Reports to: Hygiene team leader

Location: Chessington

Salary: £27,221.70 to £31,727.80 per annum

Shift pattern: 4 nights on 4 nights off

Hours: 19:00 pm – 7:00 am

Accountabilities

To support the Hygiene Team in delivering highest level of hygiene standards, and work as a team to ensure our site and customers hygiene standards are met at all times.

Ø To undertake and complete tasks as advised by Hygiene Team Leader

Ø To clean and sanities all equipment in accordance with the cleaning schedules

Ø To clean equipment and facilities to the standards as set out by site and customers standards

Ø To ensure all equipment is used as specified and within the procedures outlined in the hygiene cleaning cards/procedures

Ø To ensure all chemicals are always used as specified and within the procedures to deliver customer satisfaction and reduce wastage

Ø To work safely yourself, and not affecting others, ensuring that all requirements as laid down within the company’s Health & Safety policy are implemented, and that safe working practices are always adhered to.

Ø To be open for new changes, improvements and challenges, to drive business standards and hygiene performance upwards

Ø To perform any other tasks that may be reasonably expected

Experience

Ø We require all applicants to have a basic understanding of English Literacy and Numeracy

Ø A can-do attitude is a must

Ø Self-motivated and flexible

Ø Will be able to follow the required quality and hygiene standards

Ø Comfortable working in a chilled environment (uniform provided), and standing for long periods of time

Ø 20 days holiday, including bank holidays (pro rata) increasing by 1 day per year up to 25 days

Ø Pension 5% employee contribution 3% employer contribution
