Reporting to: Site HR Manager

Location: 48 Cox Lane, Chessington, KT9 1TW

Salary: dependent on experience + benefits

Working pattern: Monday–Friday, 8:00–17:00 (40 hours). Some flexibility required to support a 24/7 operation. Hybrid working available.

About The Role

As an HR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role supporting the site’s day‑to‑day operations across the full employee lifecycle. Working closely with line managers, you will provide confident, pragmatic HR advice aligned to NESI policies, best practice, and UK employment law. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced FMCG environment and is ready to take the next step in their career. You will gain exposure to a wide range of employee relations matters, recruitment activity, and site‑wide HR initiatives, while contributing to projects that make a real operational impact. You will report to the Site HR Manager, working alongside an HR Advisor and HR Coordinator, and will be trusted to manage a varied workload with autonomy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations
    • Provide first‑line support to line managers on ER matters, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance and performance cases, from initial advice through to conclusion
    • Schedule and support meetings, collate evidence and statements, and maintain robust case files
    • Produce accurate minutes and outcome letters within 3 working days of meetings
    • Manage attendance, lateness and AWOL cases in line with policy, supporting review meetings and escalation where required
  • Family Leave & Employee Support
    • Advise employees and managers on Maternity, Paternity and Family Leave, ensuring compliance and timely documentation for payroll
    • Manage Occupational Health referrals, review reports, highlight key recommendations and support welfare meetings
  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Support end‑to‑end recruitment activity, including drafting job descriptions, advertising roles, shortlisting, interviewing and candidate assessment
    • Partner with hiring managers to deliver a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for new starters
  • Training & Engagement
    • Deliver bite‑size ER and people‑management training sessions to Team Leaders and Line/Area Managers
    • Support the Site Engagement Forum (SEF), attending meetings and tracking agreed actions
  • HR Operations & Compliance
    • Monitor 60‑hour working compliance, investigate non‑conformance and escalate where required
    • Support monthly payroll processing, ensuring accurate updates to HRIS and resolving payroll queries
    • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records on the HRIS
    • Attend operational Tier meetings and contribute to ongoing people initiatives
    • Support ad‑hoc HR projects as required

Essential Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ HR generalist experience, with at least 1 year at HR Advisor or Officer level
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Proven experience managing multiple ER cases simultaneously
  • Confidence advising and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience using HRIS systems

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards)
  • Experience within FMCG
