New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. Job Details:
- Location: NESI - Grimsby
- Reporting To: Retail Production Supervisor/Retail Line Leader
- Responsible For: Health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and anyone else on site.
Job Purpose: Ensuring that all tasks are completed as requested by line manager.
Key Accountabilities:
- Safety: Ensure you work to all health and safety guidelines and procedures. Ensure good housekeeping of your area using ‘clean as you go’. Ensure hazards and near misses are reported immediately through the K2 reporting system or to your Supervisor or Line Manager. Ensure our product is food safe by following all procedures and by reporting any issues e.g. foreign bodies to Supervisor, Line Manager or QAs immediately.
- Quality: Ensure all products supplied are produced to the Product Specification agreed with the customer by working to our QASs. Raising issues concerning raw materials, packaging and/or equipment to Supervisor or Line Manager in a timely manner. Responsible for brand integrity by raising any issues with the product or packaging to line manager or QAs when required.
- Cost: Ensure all tasks completed are done efficiently. Support business PIPs by engaging in the projects as requested.
- Delivery: Help to achieve 100% service by immediately escalating any issues with product/packaging quality to Supervisor or Key / Compliance Op line leader and compliance op.
- People: Ensure that you are aware of your working hours so that you do not breach WTD – +60 hours in 7 days, 11 hour rest period, 1 day off in 7 or 2 days off in 14.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Good understanding of spoken English.
- ‘Can do’ attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Happy to work within a team.
Key Challenges: Need to be able to work to a high standard in a fast moving production environment.
Additional Information: Where possible adopt a flexible approach to work. Undertake any ad hoc duties which may be required from time to time. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 2pm - 10pm.
