New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world.
Responsibilities
- Use good housekeeping whilst on your shift using “clean as you go” in line with the waste flow process.
- Ensure all activities in the area are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Procedures against departmental SOPs.
- Ensure that all products are of the correct quality standard and produced to the right specification.
- Report all Non-Conformances immediately to your Direct Supervisor.
- Take responsibility for your area in the absence of a supervisor.
- Accountable for all traceability in defrost in line with the site’s colour coding procedure.
- Ensure departmental daily compliance is completed and any issues are escalated in a timely manner.
- Ensure relevant WorkSafe checks are completed.
Qualifications
- Responsible for all aspects of defrosting including paperwork and traceability.
- Racking & de-racking frozen product.
- Ensuring correct labelling & documentation in the area from when material is received from the cold store until it’s then released into production.
- Responsible for temperature control and reporting any Non-Conformities to Manager & Technical Department.
- Safety, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others and train new starters.
Additional Information
Needs to be flexible regarding all aspects of your job role and give your full support to all new systems / ideas that are implemented within the company. In addition, you will undertake any training that the company deems necessary that may assist you to effect the above responsibilities.
