Train for a career that drives your passion and fuels your success with specialized training tracks available. Our program is designed to prepare participants for immediate employment in the automotive industry, with a strong emphasis on practical skills, safety, and professionalism. Learn to diagnose, maintain, and repair modern vehicles using advanced tools and technology. Automotive technicians are the backbone of vehicle maintenance and repair.

This program covers:

  • Engine diagnostics and repair
  • Brake systems, suspension, and steering
  • Electrical systems and computerized diagnostics
  • Safety procedures and customer service

Training duration: Approximately 18 weeks.

Physical Requirements of Automotive Technician Training (AMT):

  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods
  • Use jacks, hoists, and power tools
  • Strong manual dexterity and coordination
  • Good vision, hearing, and cognitive skills

Cost: There is absolutely no cost to participate. This training is fully funded by the State of Rhode Island through Real Jobs RI and RI DLT. All materials, instruction, and support services are provided free of charge.

Program Schedule:

  • Start Date: TBD
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, with occasional Saturdays
  • Session Length: Up to 5 hours per day, starting at 3:00 or 4:00 PM
  • Location: New England Institute of Technology (specific campus details provided upon acceptance)
