New England Biolabs (NEB) is inviting applications for the position of Production Scientist I. The successful candidate will work as a member of the team responsible for the production of New England Biolabs Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) product line. This individual will be focused on coordinating and supporting all stages of the transition of new products from development to product release and technical support. This includes interfacing with customers to assist with technical inquiries, development and use of highly sensitive assays, as well as formulation of reagents.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manufacture buffers and enzyme mixes for next generation sequencing sample preparation.
Perform stringent quality control assays on all components in the product line and assist in the development of new QC assays as needed.
Track and maintain kit inventory, vialed kit components, and bulk reagent stocks used in the production of the NEBNext product line.
Assist customers with technical inquiries regarding NEBNext Products.
Coordinate and assist in the production and assembly of custom orders.
Provide additional support for the production line, including troubleshooting, protocol review, buffer preparation and enzyme stability studies.
Work closely with the Product Development department to commercialize new products for the NEBNext product line.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor\’s with at least 4 years\’ experience or master\’s with a minimum of 2 years\’ experience in molecular biology or related field.
Experience performing standard molecular biology and other laboratory techniques.
Have \”good hands\” with proven bench skills.
Strong ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be capable of self-management within a fast-paced team framework.
Be goal and deadline oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
Have a strong work ethic, emphasizing integrity, efficiency and quality of work.
Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing workflows preferred.
