About the Role: As a Trainee Ventilation Commissioning Engineer, you will be the right hand to our Lead Engineers, playing a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of HVAC air and water systems across the East Anglia region. Please note this is a field-based role covering Cambridge, East Anglia and London. With a 70% base in Cambridge, we would prefer for candidates to be a commutable distance from South Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Lead Engineer with balancing of HVAC air and water systems to CIBSE codes.
  • Assisting the Lead Engineer with validation of existing air and water systems.
  • Assisting the Lead Engineer with investigations into problematic/faulty air and water systems.
  • Assisting the Lead Engineer with validating/verifying hospital ventilation systems to required regulations.
  • Learning to use CAD software to produce technical drawings.

About you:

Required traits: The applicant must be punctual in nature. The applicant must have a desire to progress in his / her career and will be expected to be able to study for further career development with the support or supervising staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Full Manual Driving License is essential.
  • GCSE Grade 4 to 9 in Maths, English & Sciences. Or show a basic competency in these subjects.

  • All site Engineers have their own van, laptop computer, test equipment and tooling. Vans can be used for personal use within reason.
  • We ensure all our employees have in date recognised qualifications in: First Aid at work, working at heights, health and safety management (for Engineers), PASMA, IPAF & HTM 03-01.
  • All employees get 28 days holiday and gain 1 extra day holiday for every 2 years employed.
  • All employees are entitled to sick pay, compassionate leave, and paternity / maternity leave.
  • We pay time and half pay for evenings and Saturdays. Double pay for night shifts and Sundays.
  • All training will be provided. JC Commissioning will fund additional training and the professional development of the assistant so that he / she can progress to towards becoming a HVAC Commissioning Engineer.
