New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a Welsh Teacher to work at a Secondary School in Ceredigion from January 2026. This is a temporary position with the possibility of the role extending. This role would be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers to integrate into a very friendly Welsh Department. The school itself is based in an excellent and central location making it easily accessible and close by to all local amenities.
New Directions Education are recruiting for Welsh Speaking Teachers who would be able to cover various classes within local schools. We are experiencing a surge in demand. Positions can start immediately, and we can offer you work in as many schools as you wish. Successful applicants will be covering classes ranging from Nursery through to Year 6, but if you have a Key Stage preference, we will match you up as much as possible. Due to the current climate, the nature of our work is quite fast paced with supply teachers required to cover last minute absences at times. We will also be able to offer you long term placements if this is of something of interest to you.
As a Welsh Speaking Primary School Teacher you’ll be expected to:
- Have a good understanding of the Welsh language
- Teach all areas of the school curriculum
- Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
- Maintain discipline
- Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
- Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
