New Directions Education are currently recruiting a Welsh Speaking Primary School Teacher to work in schools in the Cardigan area. We require flexible, enthusiastic Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 teachers that are dedicated to improving standards and providing a safe and nurturing environment for learners. If you are committed, enthusiastic and conscientious we would love to hear from you. We welcome applications from both Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and experienced practitioners.

As a Welsh Speaking Primary School Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum in Welsh.
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment.
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development.
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
  • Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.

The schools are looking for versatile teachers who would be able to adapt to different classes when required. You will have access to outdoor learning spaces and full use of school resources. In the majority of classes, you will have Learning Support Staff to support with the delivery of lessons. During long term/regular placements you will also receive in house training with the schools and benefit from attending Inset and after school meetings.

We are fully committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults. All applicants must undertake a full enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) check.
