New Directions Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work within Mainstream Resource Provisions across Wakefield. These specialist provisions are embedded within mainstream schools, providing tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEND.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Assist with classroom activities and adapt resources to meet individual learning goals
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver cohesive support plans
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school or care setting)
- Understanding of inclusive practices and SEN strategies
