We are looking for passionate individuals who are willing to work across our large pool of schools within the Newport area. We want candidates who feel confident to work with a range of different primary aged children in small groups and in a classroom setting, striving to make children’s school experience a fun and safe environment by giving them the tools to reach their full potential.

Ideally we ask for 3 months minimum experience working with children, or have a child based qualification. We do consider candidates who have transferable skills, this means having experience working in social care, coaching or nursing.

A calm demeanour and the ability to adapt, work well in a team, and in supporting the class teacher is desirable for this role.

You will have:

• Good understanding of English language
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Capability to monitor behavioural needs and support pupils with low self-esteem
• A calm demeanour and encouraging nature
• Commitment

You will need:

• A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
• A Child and Adult DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
• A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
