New Directions Education is recruiting for a committed and skilled SEN Teacher to join one of our partner specialist schools in Salford. This is a rewarding long-term position supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, where you will deliver high-quality, individualised teaching that promotes both academic and personal development. You will work with learners with a range of needs including SEMH, ASD, MLD, and PMLD, using a flexible and nurturing approach to ensure each pupil can make meaningful progress and experience success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning needs within the class
  • Implement individual support strategies in line with EHCPs
  • Use positive behaviour support to promote emotional regulation and confidence
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, teaching assistants, and wider support teams
  • Assess, track, and review pupil progress, adjusting approaches where necessary
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
