New Directions Education is recruiting for a committed and skilled SEN Teacher to join one of our partner specialist schools in Salford. This is a rewarding long-term position supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, where you will deliver high-quality, individualised teaching that promotes both academic and personal development. You will work with learners with a range of needs including SEMH, ASD, MLD, and PMLD, using a flexible and nurturing approach to ensure each pupil can make meaningful progress and experience success.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning needs within the class
- Implement individual support strategies in line with EHCPs
- Use positive behaviour support to promote emotional regulation and confidence
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, teaching assistants, and wider support teams
- Assess, track, and review pupil progress, adjusting approaches where necessary
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
