New Directions is looking to appoint a committed and inspiring Teacher of Religious Education to join our successful Humanities department. To deliver high-quality teaching in Religious Education, inspiring students to explore religious beliefs, ethical issues, and philosophical questions while developing respect, understanding, and critical thinking skills. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire students and promote a deep understanding of religion, ethics, and philosophy across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).

The Role

  • Plan and deliver high-quality and engaging R.E lessons
  • Foster critical thinking, discussion, and respect for diverse beliefs and values
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and positive learning environment in the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds (or is on track to achieve) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
  • Be an excellent teacher of Religious Education or an Early Career Teacher with strong potential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

Requirements

  • References covering the last 5 years
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
