New Directions Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in schools across the Merthyr Tydfil area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full potential within a classroom environment.
The Role
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assist class teachers with day-to-day classroom activities
- Support learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including behavioural, emotional, or learning difficulties
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
The Ideal Candidate
- Have experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
- Are patient, caring, and adaptable
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
