About the Role
New Directions Education is currently recruiting reliable, caring, and proactive Mid-Day Supervisors/Lunchtime Supervisors to support primary schools across Penarth. This is an ideal role for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to contribute to a positive, safe, and engaging lunchtime environment. As a Mid-Day Supervisor, you will play a key part in pupils’ wellbeing by supervising them in the dining hall, playground, and other school areas. You will help promote positive behaviour, encourage safe play, and assist with lunchtime routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising pupils during lunch breaks inside and outside
- Encouraging positive, inclusive play and social interaction
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils
- Managing minor first-aid incidents (training can be provided)
- Supporting school staff in maintaining behaviour expectations
- Helping with setting up and clearing down dining areas as required
Requirements
- A friendly, calm, and approachable manner
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and staff
- Reliability and good time-keeping
- A clear and up-to-date Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through New Directions)
- Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
