New Directions Education is currently recruiting a passionate and committed Biology Teacher to work in a secondary school in Sefton, supporting pupils from a range of backgrounds, including a high proportion of Pupil Premium learners.
About the School
A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Sefton, catering to pupils aged 11β18. The school serves a diverse community and supports pupils facing social and economic disadvantage. Strong emphasis on pastoral care, equality, and raising aspirations for all learners.
The Role
Deliver high-quality Biology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to contribute to KS5 provision. Plan engaging lessons that develop scientific knowledge and practical skills.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Biology in a secondary school setting is desirable.
- Able to deliver KS3 and KS4 Biology topics such as cells, organisation, infection and response, bioenergetics, homeostasis, inheritance and ecology, and support students with required practical skills.
- Strong understanding of strategies to support Pupil Premium students and close attainment gaps.
- Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done.
- Must have employment references covering the last 5 years.
