Are you a passionate and resilient Teacher who wants to make a lasting impact on children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? New Directions Education is seeking dedicated teachers to join specialist provisions across Leeds. These nurturing environments support pupils who may also have additional diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, or trauma-related needs. Teaching is delivered in small class sizes, allowing for a highly personalised and therapeutic approach that focuses on both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

About the Role:

  • Deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Build trust and positive relationships with learners who may have experienced trauma
  • Support emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans

Requirements:

  • QTS, QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working with SEMH and/or SEND learners
  • Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Compassion, patience, and flexibility
  • Team Teach or similar training (desirable)
