An inclusive mainstream primary school in Bootle is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children within an EYFS setting, including outdoor learning in a forest school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young children through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
The Role
- Support teaching and learning within an EYFS classroom and forest school provision
- Work 1:1 and with small groups, adapting support to meet individual needs
- Assist in delivering play-based and outdoor learning activities
- Support children’s communication, social development, and early learning skills
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment, both indoors and outdoors
- Support daily routines, including transitions and outdoor sessions
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (or similar)
- Has experience working with young children, ideally in EYFS
- Enjoys outdoor learning and understands the benefits of forest school approaches
- Is patient, nurturing, and proactive
- Can build positive relationships with children and staff
Requirements
- References covering the last 5 years
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Safeguarding training
