We are seeking tutors! Are you a primary school teacher who is looking for a different path in education? This could be the role for you.
Successful candidates must possess a PGCE and be able to teach up to KS2. New Directions are seeking a qualified primary teacher up to KS2 who is able to carry out 1-1 tuition to support EOTAS students (Education Other Than At a School Setting). These pupils are not currently attending mainstream education or are working towards re-entering the system.
Some pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), so experience in supporting children with behavioural and social difficulties or autism and emotional difficulties is imperative for this role. Ideally, pastoral care experience within education would be favoured.
The successful applicant will become part of the Engagement, Wellbeing and Attainment team, working with pupils in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The pupils will be based at home or in Learning Centres and are not regular school attenders. The role requires you to travel from pupil to pupil, predominantly supportive, but there will also be some teaching and guidance involved when necessary.
This role is 5 days per week, with a limited timetable to begin with and hours to increase in a matter of weeks. If you are on a part-time role and require more hours, New Directions can also offer further hours with supply work in schools on free days.
Furthermore, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the position, as travelling to pupils' homes and relevant learning centres would be required.
If you are interested in registering with New Directions, should roles become available for one-to-one tuition, and have the experience and drive to take on such a role, please get in touch.
